This position is responsible for call taking in the Public Information Contact Center (PICC). The PICC answers the calls from the public offering scripted responses to common questions, and front line screening for COVID 19 Communicable Disease and Epidemiology in addition to intake portal for Isolation and Quarantine.
Typical work in the PICC includes:
Telephone triage and case finding screening for community calls related to the COVID 19 outbreak.

Provides health messaging and resources for individuals, small businesses, child care centers, schools and others.

Referrals to community resources including access to health care, COVID 19 testing, and intake for Isolation and Quarantine COVID Care Centers.

Demonstrates support of Public Health?s mission to protect and promote the health of all residents through implementing primary prevention strategies which prevent health problems from starting, spreading, or progressing.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Licensing/Certification Requirements:
Current Washington State Registered Nurse license in good standing.

Associate degree in nursing science from an accredited school of nursing.

Washington State Driver's license or ability to deploy to various sites throughout King County

Desired qualifications:Understanding of and familiarity with call center work or phone triage

Experience in Covid-19 Response Call Center

Experience in Communicable Disease/Epidemiology

Work Schedule:These are part-time positions that are not benefited. These positions are based our of 401 5th Avenue, Seattle, WA 98104 as well as remote deployment. Variable days and hours to include weekend and holidays. Times may vary as PICC needs change over time.

Public Health relies on office automation (Microsoft Office 365) and other web-enabled tools. Candidates must be proficient and comfortable with computer use to perform essential functions of the position.

Regular and reliable attendance, effective communication skills, and development of effective working relationships are requirements of all Public Health positions.

Staff may be required to play an active role in the event of a public health emergency, which may include changes in responsibilities, work location and working hours.

Necessary Special Requirement:The selected candidate will be required to pass a thorough background investigation.

Employees are required to protect the privacy and security of protected health information as defined in State and Federal Law.

Employees are required to adhere to OSHA/WISHA guidelines including but not limited to completing their mandatory trainings on time.

May be deployed to other sections as needed to support operational needs.
