The Claims Examiner I is responsible for reviewing dental claims for accuracy and compliance with group and Delta processing guidelines, while processing the minimum acceptable number of claims per hour at or above the current acceptable accuracy/quality rates.

Due to COVID-19, training for this role will be remote, lasting anywhere from 4-8 weeks. Candidates must have their own personal computer and remote internet access as Delta Dental cannot provide any technical equipment to complete this training.
How you will make an impact:

Reviews and adjudicates dental claims utilizing Personal Computer terminals in accordance with company and/or regulatory guidelines
Routes, based on edit messages, claims to appropriate departments based on company and/or regulatory guidelines
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned
What we look for:

Position Requirement: a personal computer and remote internet access
A high school diploma or GED
Analytical, problem solving and reasoning skills; detail orientation
Good organizational/time management and multi-tasking abilities
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to effectively communicate problems/questions/explanations
Knowledge of Delta Dental systems/organization and knowledge of health care industry issues preferred
Ability to pass Claims Examiner I test
