Looking for a Sr Business Manager to lead and manage a team of Engineers, Field Techs, Operations professionals.
The Business Manager will take ownership of and be responsible for the safety, growth, quality, performance, and risk management of the respective office and employees. Promotes culture surrounding Core Values of Safety, Accountability, Teamwork, Professionalism, Respect, and Integrity. The Business Manager actively participates in strategic planning and in developing business objectives, operational plans, employee development, and marketing plans to accomplish the office and Company objectives.
Essential Functions
Identify and grow market share in geotechnical engineering and construction services. Assist in the development of an expanded brand and professional services offerings.
Coach supervisors to maintain efficient workflows and motivate employees.
Direct and oversee all aspects of business development for project procurement. Attend marketing meetings with new and current clients.
Review project proposals and reports in a liability conscientious manner.
Recruit, mentor, train, and improve the portfolio of employees' capabilities to sustain and advance the business (e.g., business development, project management, client service orientation, risk management mitigation, professionalism). Provide frequent employee feedback and recognition.
Produce technically accurate and timely deliverables using sound judgment, proven engineering-testing methods, prudent business practices, and core values to reduce risk to company and company's clients.
Coach department and project managers to maintain timely and accurate projects.
Ensure Quality Management System, Safety, invoicing, and loss prevention programs are followed and compliant.
Communicate frequently with peers and employees to achieve alignment and to meet goals.
Participate (or chair) cross-functional teams to improve and change business outcomes.
Make process improvements within geography and share best practices with peers.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Leadership skills of good time management, sense of urgency, strategic change agent, motivator and exhibiting core values of integrity and respect.
Skilled with excellent verbal and written communication. The ability to write reports and correspondence legibly, accurately and professionally. Must be able to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, co-workers, and direct reports. Ensures communications reduce errors, establishes a team approach to problem solving, and exhibits personal accountability.
Conduct necessary staff, safety, and department meetings to facilitate thorough, consistent, and robust communications across the office.
Knowledge of and an ability to accurately calculate test results in accordance with test procedures and perform materials testing and engineering calculations.
Knowledge of financial management such as budgeting, forecasting, billing, return on investment and knowledge of key metrics such as profitability, labor costs, multiplier, employee utilization and efficiency, billing, and DSO.
Knowledge of the administrative systems, protocols, SOPs and software programs, and budgeting process to generate accurate data for invoicing and collections.
Ability to synthesize moderately complex information, problem-solve, and make decisions dynamically.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move 25 pounds or more.
Knowledge of Metafield, Ajera, Microsoft Word, Adobe, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to mentor, train, and develop employees thoroughly and with results.
Ability to work both independently and cooperatively within a team environment and coordinate support when necessary.
Ability to travel occasionally to other offices or job sites to provide support, guidance and expertise as needed including weekends and long hours at times.
Ability to possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable/insurable driving record.
Ability to professionally represent the organization and develop employees to live the brand.

Education and Experience
Related bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. (Master's Degree preferred).
Serving as an active and visible member in an industry-related organization.
7+ years previous engineering-related or CMT-related business-related leadership experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) designation preferred.
