Job Responsibilities
You will be responsible for securing borders, stopping illegal activities, and supporting economic stability.
This includes questioning individuals, inspecting documents and property, apprehending undocumented individuals or smugglers, tracking signs of illegal entry, and performing various checks.
Conduct surveillance using covert methods and infrared technology
Detect and respond to potential threats
Use intelligence to monitor and prevent criminal activity
You may be qualified for this position if you have current or prior law enforcement experience, including military police or local/state law enforcement.
Requirements
To be considered for GL-9 positions, you must have one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade, including:
Searching detained persons, vehicles, and surroundings
Apprehending or restraining suspects in violation of law
Using firearms, writing reports, serving warrants, and gathering evidence
To be considered for GS-11 positions, you must have one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade, including:
Leading fraud or contraband investigations
Apprehending violators using surveillance and detection technology
No education substitution is accepted for GL-9 or GS-11 positions.
