(ECI) has been to assist self-pay hospital patients find the means to pay their medical bills through participation in various government assistant programs. Job Description: The Bilingual Decision Support Worker - DS is responsible for contacting discharged patients to establish a positive partnership to obtain collateral documents necessary to complete their applications for government assistance programs.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities • Maintains a large caseload with minimum or no delinquencies
• Capable of multitasking under pressure and completing tasks promptly
• Proficient at meeting deadlines and achieving individual metrics in a consisting basis
• Contacts patients and creates collaborative teamwork to obtain needed information for application advancement
• Uses clear, simple language to ensure understanding in English and/or Spanish
• Complies with all state and federal laws regarding HIPAA and confidentiality requirements
• Able to remain focused and productive each day with minimum supervision
• Demonstrates respect for all individuals
• Adheres to ECI's Mission, Vision, and Core Values
• Other duties as assigned

Soft Skills Needed for the Ideal DS: A compassionate heart and a sincere desire to assist patients during any phase of their application process Strong work ethic demonstrated with excellent outcomes Desire to provide the best possible experience for our patients Experience navigating a computer while on the phone Willing to work and contribute to a team environment Ability to trouble-shoot problems Listens effectivelyRequired Qualifications: High School diploma / GED (or higher) Bilingual English/Spanish Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel) Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week Monday-Friday)Strong written and verbal communication skillPrior costumer service experienceExperience with HHSC (Medicaid, County Indigent, TANF, SSI) a plusPhysical and Work Requirements: Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse, long periods working at a computerTelecommuting Requirements: Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.Must be available to train 4-6 weeks at the Richardson, TX home office.
