JOB SUMMARY AND WORK SCHEDULE
Provide customer service to parents by setting up appointments, verifying patient information,and maintaining organized medical records for the patients of Well Child, Inc. During the summer, this position will work Monday-Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm and during the school year the work hours will be 10:00 am-7:00 pm.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Place outgoing callsandreceive incoming calls; assistparentsvia phone by answering questions and setting up appointments
2. Verify member’sinsurance eligibility
3. Input clear and concise notes and review patient records information
4. Report productivity by completingadaily report
5. Completion of Outreach report
6. Maintain compliance with policies and complianceprogram
7. Update patient consent informationand maintain call center database
8.Other duties as assigned. To ensure the department is functioning at full capacity to meet the needs of the customer.Occasionally you will assist in preparing and checking for the completion of consent forms, enter data to verify medical records, and upload and download files

At the discretion of the Director ofCustomer Care,thetargeted duties and responsibilities of this position may be assigned to incumbents of the position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
RequiresaHigh School diploma or GED.1 year of experience in medical records and customer servicefunction. Bilingual(must be able to communicate verbally and writtenin English and Spanish), type ataminimum speed of 45 words per minute.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Effectively communicate verbally and written inEnglish and Spanish.
Knowledge of medical records analyzing and processing techniques and standards; working knowledge of medical terminology.
Familiarity with privacy laws and other regulations that affect how medical records are stored and accessed.
Ability to effectively communicate and maintain productive and positive relationships.
Consistent attention to detail.
Skill in the use of personal computers; ability to type at a minimum speed of 45 w.p.m.

Incumbent works under daily guidance and direction from the Director ofCustomer Care.

Physical Demands

Prolonged sitting, occasional walking,andregular lifting of up to 40 pounds.

Audible Demands

Operation of the phone system, verbal communication with supervisors, co-workers, patient families, etc.

Visual Demands

Computer use, operation of the phone system, preparation of reports, reading handwriting.

Color Perception

Color-coded data in the medical record.

Environmental Conditions

Work is conducted in a typical indoor work environment with good lighting, noise,and temperature control.

Hazards

Minimal risk of injury or work-related illness.
