About the role
In this role, you will advise stakeholders on regulatory requirements, lead and/or advise product development efforts for Paid Family Medical Leave (PFML), absence/leave and administration, group disability and life insurance. You will also train and coach other compliance personnel and business partners. Extensive experience with PFML, absence/leave administration, group life, and group disability income insurance required.
What you will do
Maintain subject matter expertise on PFML, Absence/Leave Administration, Group Disability, Group Life, and Statutory Disability products, regulations, and current and emerging developments/trends.
Direct and enhance organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives.
Support leave administration, state PFML programs and other emerging subject areas.
Collaborate with regulators, advise internal team members, customers, and partners regarding products, services, and regulatory requirements.
Provide leadership and expertise to team to drive product suite management, implementation and product life-cycle initiatives.
Collaborate on product development initiatives with Product and Pricing teams.
Advise and assist business management on compliance issues including the development of practices and procedures.
Partner with other compliance leaders to manage internal relationships and report concerns to senior management.
Provide training and mentorship for less experienced team members.
Stay current on industry issues and regulatory developments relevant to assigned areas. Perform regulatory research as needed, and deliver clear, effective communications

Compensation
Salary Range: $151,300 – $252,100 plus eligibility for annual bonus program
Who You Are
College degree or equivalent experience required.
Extensive group insurance experience, including legal and regulatory, product development, product and claims administration, and compliance knowledge and experience required.
10+ years compliance experience, including managing a compliance function and/or experience in group insurance or employee benefits with direct expertise in Group Life, Disability, Absence, PFML, The Americans with Disabilities Act, and Statutory Disability.
Strong understanding of the group benefits industry and relevant compliance issues.
Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
Proven executive judgment.
Strategic and able to develop a practicable long-term strategy for operations.
Adept collaboration skills with various departments, levels of management, and internal clients.
Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information to distill critical issues and recommendations that consider risks, benefits and alternative perspectives for executive use.
Strong Microsoft skills (excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint).
Proven ability to work with IT personnel to develop technology solutions to support compliance program.
Some minimal travel required.
