About the Job

Region VI Planning and Development Council,
located in Fairmont, WV, is seeking a person for a dual position
of full-time Accountant/Project Administrator,
who will be under the direction of the Executive Director.
Accountant:
Accounting responsibilities using generally accepted accounting practices
include day-to-day finance operations; accounts payable/receivable;
payroll; preparation of financial statements. To be successful in this position, the following is required:
â?¢ Associateâ??s degree but Bachelorâ??s degree from an accredited
four-year college or university is preferred
â?¢ Minimum of three years accounting/financial experience
â?¢ Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
â?¢ Experience working with accounting software;
knowledge of QuickBooks is a plus
â?¢ Perform tasks as assigned by the Executive Director
Project Administrator:
In conjunction with Accountant responsibilities, as Project Administrator,
this person shall administer assigned projects.
Duties include but not limited to:
â?¢ Assist in planning, implementation, and administration of Council projects
â?¢ Assist in preparation of the annual Councilâ??s Regional Development Plan
â?¢ Provide technical assistance in preparation of program
and project applications
â?¢ Assist localities in assembling financial packages
â?¢ Act as a liaison between State and Federal agencies and
smaller jurisdictions in some matters
â?¢ Attend required City Council, County Commission,
and/or additional meetings as needed
â?¢ Perform tasks as assigned by the Executive Director

â?¢ Well-groomed; professional appearance; impeccable integrity
â?¢ Good analytical skills; strong communication skills
â?¢ Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment
â?¢ Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
â?¢ Strong organizational skills with ability to handle multiple tasks
â?¢ Self-motivated; ability to operate in stressful situations
Salary is negotiable. Under Section 3 of the HUD Act of 1968, wherever HUD financial assistance is expended for housing or community development, to the greatest extent feasible, economic opportunities will be given to Section 3 residents and businesses in that area.
