About The Role We are seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Writer who specializes in developing digital Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) and possesses familiarity with IADS or similar systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in XML coding and be capable of creating comprehensive training content, operator manuals, maintenance manuals, and other related documentation.
Duties & Responsibilities Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather information and understand the technical aspects of the project. Develop interactive, user-friendly digital IETMs using industry-standard tools and platforms. Create and update technical content, including operator manuals, maintenance manuals, training materials, and other relevant documentation. Employ XML coding techniques to ensure effective information structuring and accessibility. Ensure compliance with established documentation standards, style guides, and branding guidelines. Conduct thorough reviews and revisions of technical content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency. Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as engineers, trainers, and project managers, to gather inputs and deliver high-quality documentation within defined timelines. Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to digital IETM development. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Proven experience as a Technical Writer, with a focus on developing digital IETMs and related documentation. Strong understanding of IADS or similar systems, their functionalities, and integration with technical documentation. Ability to translate complex technical information into clear and concise documentation suitable for various target audiences. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Proficiency in XML coding and experience with structured authoring tools (e.g., Arbortext, Visual Studios or Notepad++). Experience with graphic design software and visualization tools. Familiarity with military or aerospace industry standards and documentation requirements (e.g., S1000D) is highly desirable.
