The Project Architect's/Designers responsibility is the management of multiple architectural projects (buildings) from due diligence, to design development, all the way through construction administration as assigned by the Client Manager (Principal).
Relationships:
The Project Architect/Designer is the lead member of a project team and reports to the Client Manager (Principal). The Project Architect/Designer also directs other office personnel and consultant teams (MEP, Structure, etc.) working on the scheduled projects. They are the main point of contact.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Management
· Manage architectural and or interior design projects as assigned by the Client Manager
· Understand, utilize, and convey client standards and needs
· Communicate design concepts to clients
· Understand code requirements
· Knowledge of building materials, construction methods
· Knowledge of structural, MEP, and kitchen design
· Research products and materials
2. Operations and Activities
· Responsible for the creation and completion of construction documents needed for Bid, Permit, and Final Construction documents
· Maintain contact/coordinate with consultants to build a complete set of CD's
· Participate in the design development of floor plans as directed by the Client Manager (Principal) and other phases of the project
3. Organization
· Communicate with Job Captains/Arch. Associates and Draft Persons to achieve design concepts
· Communicate with Client Manager regarding project profitability and scheduling
· Communicate with all engineers/consultants on concept, and final product timing and cost.
4. Finance
· Understanding of project economics
· Work within project budgets
· Manage workload of team for project profitability
5. Planning
· Plan and report on status of projects.
· Assist in project planning and implementation of project needs
· Assist Client Manager with project proposals when requested
Supervisory Responsibility:
Supervises members of the project who are directly involved in the development of construction documents for the project.
Qualifications:
The Project Architect/Designer must have:
· Architectural or Interior Design background
· A technical or associate degree from an accredited institution, bachelors and or masters is a plus
· Be proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Revit for design and contract document purposes
· Have or working towards licensure is a plus (AIA, NCARD, RID, NCIDQ, LEED AP, WELL etc.)

· Ability and willingness to travel, if necessary
Work Experience:
10+ years' experience in running multiple building projects throughout the complete architectural project cycle for both new construction and tenant finish out projects, along with management of team members. Restaurant and Retail experience is a plus.
